- Albumin is the protein portion of the blood. It is important in maintaining blood volume.
-It is used in the treatment of shock, burns or low blood protein to temporarily correct or prevent a blood volume deficiency.
HOW TO USE:

-This medication is administered by injection into a vein.
- The dose and frequency of use of this medication will be determined by your condition and response to therapy.
- Follow your doctor's instructions closely and be sure to ask any questions you may have about this therapy.
SIDE EFFECTS:

This medication is generally well tolerated.
-However, allergic reactions have been reported. Discontinue use and notify your doctor if you experience any of the following symptoms while taking this medication: fever, chills, flushing, hives, skin rash, itching, headache, nausea, breathing difficulty, rapid heart rate.

PRECAUTIONS:

-Tell your doctor if you have: heart disease, kidney disease, liver problems, blood disorders, anemia, allergies
(especially to protein). This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy.
- Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. It is not known if this medication appears in breast milk.
- Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

MISSED DOSE:

- It is important that each dose be used as directed. If you miss a dose, contact your doctor to establish a new dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
